72 Hoyt Street Site Revamped

The 72 Hoyt Street homepage for a long time looked like an apartment that someone moved into just a few minutes ago. But then we've now resided here for much longer than that. And now it shows! :-) Check it out.

Another hit ...

The Ministry Of Blues did a show at the Opus tonight ... mind blowing ... the rain kinda screwed it up a little ... people had to seat themselves next to the band or far far away ... I was right in the middle of the seating area of course ... by the time the show was over, I found myself in the middle of the Ganges!!!

I liked the show ... VC was brilliant as usual ... DK had a neat thang going ... used the frames and cymbal stands brilliantly ... Vinoo rocked at the duet with DK ... Philipe did his regular hind-jiving throughout VC and Texas Strut ... killer!!

This great Canadian Blues guest songstress did a totally extempore song with the Ministry ... great voice ... Rauf did a neat piano solo (one of those "tinkering" piano types!!) ...

Great evening ... great food ... and learning experience!!

I'm all that I have...All that I lost...

Hey guys,

Been meaning to do this for a while now....nonetheless...here it goes...
All That I have All that I lost.wma

I personally like the transition at 6:15...(reminds you of something??)...all of it has been played ...no production/TRITON escapism...and best (read worst) of all "TAKE 1"...but this is the idea and mood for the song.....I would really like it if someone can please fit in the lyrics/phrases to the song (my mind is now saturated)...I would like not to change the words...(the mood has been set and there is no going back on that)...minor alterations to sequences/progresions would be my choice...but if the idea is bigger than the mood itself I am more than willing. Again please excuse me for, it is take 1 (and zero mixing and no bass)......we can get more polished than that ...here are the lyrics...

I looked away just a while
And you were miles gone
When you left my side?
I cannot recall
I don’t know at all

I’m all that I have
I’m all that I lost

It has been so very long
Ghosts of your memories
Crush my soul
The claws of our sweet past
Gnaw at my bones
I reach out to you deep in my sleep
There is cold death beneath

I’m all that I have
I’m all that I lost

I wake up choking on my own breath
What a farce my life seems
Is it only I who bleeds
Or we have both ceased to be

But if I ever see you again
I will look away
Tears will well
But I know I will walk away

I’m all that I have
I’m all that I lost

Comments/Suggestions are most welcome...

Thanks,
LighthouseKeeper......

Hoyt Street ExFuckingPerience!!

Folks:
Seventy-Two Hoyt is mostly about the music we churned (and still churn) out through our altered states, stereo-hifis, etc (although it also involves a lot of beer, whiskey, E&Js ... thank god ... and Baatel for this!), Captain Morgan, White Owls et al ...

Here we have stuff we did back in the zone in 2002, 2003 and 2004 ...

"On The Breath Of Poseidon (Segue)" and "Sonata Finale":

Man Oh Man!! I think we did this over a period of about a half-month (although I sure as hell remember we finished "Sonata" in about eight hours ... kept alive and kickin' by SX and of course copius amounts of thump and tea from Maddu!!) ...

OTBOP was not as much a hellhole recording as it was for mixing (that goddamn bass overkill at the end ... pleease guys ... software has limitation ... as does our souls!!) ... I remember I made Maddu listen to it about a dozen times .. with equivalents os thump and teas of course!!

Sonata was much lesser of a pain ... we recorded 11 different piano pieces (Mikey P ... you truly are a genius!!) ... Vee's solo was done in about 5 takes I think ...

Vijay ... I remember that night we did Sonata in full detail ... my Amrutanjan smeared forehead at dawn and everyhing!! Faizal's "Abbe ... tumlog soye nahi ab tak?!" (he'd done that about a zillion times before!!) ... DELIGHTFUL SESSION!!!

I did "Transcendence (Segue)" in about a half day when I was in Pennington ... problem is I dont have the waves anymore ... so forget mastering this ...

Vijay ... you remember "Dimanche Matin Soleil", of which we recorded the "Etude"?? Twas neat ... maybe we'll do some more with it someday .... and then there was "When A Blind Man Cries" ... four tracks from the Roland ... what fun!!

I have other stuff ... which I want to re-edit ... "Wasted Sunsets", "Hard Lovin' Man" and "Apache" (Deep Purple, Deep Purple and The Black Baron, respectively) ... "Signs Of Life" (Floyd), "And The World Returned" (At The Gates) ... for the life of me ... I dont know where that "A Winter's Dream (Part 1)" recording is!! Khan's comp .. I think ...

But here it is ... all I have ... great fucking sessions ... have fun you guys!!
